As a key member of our dynamic Customer Care team, you will play a vital role in spearheading various strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the volunteer experience for both existing and prospective volunteers. This position is crucial for overseeing and coordinating United Way's Poverty Simulations, while also facilitating the growth of United Way's Cabinets through effective management of Cabinet operations, which includes event planning, comprehensive communications, recruitment strategies, and the onboarding and offboarding processes for all Cabinet volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Product and Marketing teams to manage volunteer oversight and event coordination for community-driven volunteer events.
  • Actively seek opportunities to promote and showcase United Way's volunteer engagement initiatives, coordinating participation in local community volunteer events and fairs to bolster recruitment strategies and enhance organizational visibility.
  • Assist the Program Manager of Volunteer Engagement in identifying partnership opportunities that elevate brand awareness and community support.
  • Oversee the volunteer lifecycle for Cabinet members, including onboarding, ongoing support, and offboarding.
  • Organize and execute all facets of the Mentoring for Success program for Sponsored Campaign Representatives (SCRs), which encompasses mentor recruitment, securing facilitators for workshops, scheduling, logistics, material preparation, and program evaluation.
  • Coordinate and lead volunteers for Poverty Simulation events.
  • Facilitate Cabinet engagement through essential functions such as communications, event planning, recognition, and project support related to the Cabinet's strategic objectives.
  • Support administrative tasks for annual Cabinet recruitment strategies.
  • Annually update Cabinet role profiles and terms of reference.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the Cabinet Portal (SharePoint site).
  • Provide assistance to Women United, GenNEXT, and ReUnited Cabinets by supporting staff partners with Cabinet operations.

Qualifications:

You are an adept relationship builder who excels in fostering engaging connections through trust, collaboration, and effective communication. Your organizational skills are complemented by your experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Problem-solving is a strength of yours, and you are comfortable in gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and utilizing diverse information for informed decision-making. You are recognized for your accountability and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Your background includes a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field, along with a minimum of two to three years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

A valid driver's license and vehicle are necessary as some travel may be required. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or early mornings is also expected.
