Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Worker II to join our team at Burnaby Hospital. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our cafeteria.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and manage cash registers, including counting and balancing cash receipts.
  2. Oversee the preparation and presentation of food and beverages, including making beverages and preparing cold food items.
  3. Perform cleaning tasks, such as sweeping and mopping floors, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  4. Assist with inventory management, including counting and replenishing food and supply stock.
  5. Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  6. Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 10, plus one (1) year's recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current Food Safe Level 1 certification or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
