Casual Health Care Worker II, Inpatient Unit About the Role We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Casual Health Care Worker II to join our team in Burnaby, B.C. As a key member of our inpatient unit, you will provide day-to-day care to patients, participate in group activities, and assist in maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities • Attend to the day-to-day care of patients, including supervising and assisting with meals, escorting patients to dining rooms, and assisting with personal hygiene • Perform routine nursing procedures, such as weighing patients, taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressures, and measuring intake and output • Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior, recording data on clinical records as directed • Assist with admission and discharge procedures, and accompany lab technicians with medical procedures • Participate in rehabilitation, remotivation, and self-care programs, including escorting and supervising gym groups, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities • Maintain a safe environment, including monitoring patients on special or constant attention status, and assisting with hospital and grounds searches for absent patients • Promote order and assist in controlling disturbances, and assist in restraining out-of-control patients Qualifications • Grade twelve (12) and a Resident Care Aide certificate • Two (2) years' recent, related experience in a group home and/or other related areas where clients with psychiatric conditions may reside • Valid Class V BC Drivers' Licence • Basic First Aid certificate Skills and Abilities • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to deal effectively with others • Ability to organize work • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position • Ability to operate related equipment About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, serving over two million people.
