Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our People and Culture Team at DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide recruitment and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our HR functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment process by creating job postings, scheduling interviews with hiring managers, and coordinating the interview process.
  • Perform a range of administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare and develop HR correspondence, including employment verification letters and other employee communications.
  • Act as a front-line resource for employee inquiries and manage the HR mailbox, assigning and forwarding correspondence to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employment records in our HRIS system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Attend Labour Management Committee meetings and take minutes as required.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed, including filing and maintaining HR records.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year's post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field of study.
  • One year's experience in Human Resources, preferably in an office environment.
  • Experience working with HR Information Management Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPHR or working towards designation.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Second language proficiency.
