Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our People & Culture Team at DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support and contribute to the recruitment process, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment process by creating job postings, scheduling interviews with hiring managers, and coordinating logistics.
  • Perform a range of administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare and develop HR correspondence, including employment verification letters and other employee communications.
  • Act as a front-line resource for employee inquiries, managing the HR mailbox and assigning/forwarding correspondence to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain employment records in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Attend Labour Management Committee meetings and take minutes.
  • Participate in the OH&S Committee as the P&C representative.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year's post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • One year's experience in Human Resources, preferably in an office environment.
  • Experience working with HR Information Management Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and good judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPHR or working towards designation.
  • Experience within a unionized environment.
  • Second language proficiency.
