We are currently in search of a Human Resources Summer Intern to support our People & Culture Team during the summer months. If you are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional HR services and thrive in a dynamic environment, this role may be ideal for you. The HR Intern will engage with the People & Culture Department, offering both recruitment assistance and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

Aids in the recruitment process by crafting job advertisements, coordinating phone, video, and in-person interviews with hiring managers; Executes various administrative tasks, often involving sensitive information. Assists in drafting and preparing HR-related documents, including employment verification letters and other employee communications; Serves as a primary resource for employee inquiries and effectively manages the HR mailbox, directing correspondence to the appropriate team member; Ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of employment records in the HRIS, adhering to compliance regulations; Takes minutes during Labour Management Committee meetings; Handles HR filing as required; Participates in the Occupational Health & Safety Committee as the People & Culture representative; Qualified candidates will possess: At least one year of post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field; One year of experience in Human Resources; One year of experience in an office setting; Familiarity with Human Resources Information Management Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems; Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; Proven time management and organizational abilities; Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality; Proficiency in PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, email, and internet applications including Zoom; Demonstrated problem-solving skills, adaptability, and sound judgment. Preference will be given to candidates who also possess: CPHR designation or are working towards it; Experience in a unionized environment; Proficiency in a second language.
