As a well-rounded Licensed Practical Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing care to seniors and individuals of all ages in their homes and community settings. Your role will involve collaborating with Registered Nurses to deliver resident care functions within the scope of practice, code of ethics, and governing legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients with various personal care activities, including transfers using lifts and slings.
  • Administering medication and providing nighttime monitoring and assistance.
  • Performing light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, washing dishes, and sweeping and wiping of surfaces.
  • Preparing blenderized feeds for clients and facilitating community inclusion activities.
  • Providing outings in the community and supporting the facilitation of community inclusion activities.

Core Requirements:

  • Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses.
