Health Association Nova Scotia is partnering with the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care to provide recruitment support to continuing care employers in Nova Scotia. In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, the LPN performs a wide variety of resident care functions within the scope of practice, code of ethics, and governing legislation. The LPN provides a leadership and supervisory role to the Continuing Care Attendant/Personal Care Worker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with various personal care activities
- Use of lifts and slings to transfer patients with a movement disorder
- Administration of medication
- Nighttime monitoring and assistance
- Light housekeeping (Laundry, washing dishes, sweeping and wiping of surfaces)
- Basic food prep of a blenderized feed for the clients
- Outings in the community
- Facilitation of community inclusion activities
Core Requirements:
- Current Licensed (or eligible for license) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
