About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority's Learning Institute for Health Care Providers is seeking a skilled Nursing Instructor I/II to join our team. As a key member of our interprofessional practice and learning team, you will play a vital role in creating a culture of learning and promoting accountable professional practice in quality practice environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the implementation of entry-level and specialty level educational programming in accordance with the Learning Institute's educational framework and provincial mandate.
  • Facilitate learning according to the prescribed curriculum and work collaboratively with the Nurse Educator and Nursing Instructor IV to provide educational programming for nursing and interprofessional programs.
  • Practice according to the Registered Nurses Act, Nova Scotia College of Nursing, and Standards of Practice of Registered Nurses.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Instructor I/II who possesses a strong background in medical/surgical nursing and adult education. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, an active practicing license in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses, and a certificate course or CNA certification in medical/surgical nursing.

  • Minimum two years' recent and continuous clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing.
  • Current experience with classroom, online, and skill/simulation teaching, including low to high fidelity simulation.
  • Previous preceptor experience.
  • BLS for Health Care Providers certification.
  • Demonstrated recent professional development relevant to maintaining currency in practice and education.
