Job Title: Business Development Director

About Us: Marriott International, a world-renowned hospitality company, seeks a seasoned leader to join our team as a General Manager at the esteemed The Westin Harbour Castle Toronto.

Job Description: As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and fostering a culture of excellence within the hotel. Your primary objective will be to lead the property to achieve its goals, while aligning with Marriott's global strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Strategy Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, monitor competitors, and develop business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share.
  • Business Strategy Execution: Execute business plans, ensure alignment with brand strategies, and hold the leadership team accountable for successful delivery.
  • Sales and Marketing: Work closely with the Sales and Marketing team to develop revenue-generating strategies, identify new business leads, and leverage Marriott demand engines to full potential.
  • Talent Management and Organizational Capability: Create a high-performance Executive Committee, coach and hold them accountable, create learning and development opportunities, and ensure effective work processes are in place.
  • Business Information Analysis: Review business-related data, analyze information to address changing market conditions, and ensure the property operates within budgetary guidelines.
  • Employee and Labor Relations: Verify fair treatment of employees, foster an open communication environment, and make self-available to employees.
  • Revenue Management: Work with Revenue Management to develop pricing strategies, balance seasonality, economy, customer segments, and property objectives.

Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: 2-year degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years' experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area.
  • Preferred Qualifications: General Manager experience in limited or full-service properties, ability to work flexible hours, and property industry work experience demonstrating progressive career growth.
