Salary Range

We are offering an attractive salary ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Corporate Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration of our People & Culture strategy, recruitment, retention & associate relations, termination, training and development, health & safety, personnel records, legal & legislative compliance and long-term staffing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment, Retention & Associate Relations:
    • Establish policies to increase associate retention rates and foster job satisfaction and high morale.
    • Oversee new senior manager associate orientation, training and onboarding.
    • Prepare job descriptions and compensation programs, recruit and coordinate job applicants, and facilitate interviews and hiring.
    • Set policies for recruitment & retention at the property level.
    • Visit hotel properties to ensure appropriate assistance, guidance and counseling is provided to hotel General Managers.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Oversee training, development and health & safety programs to comply with government regulation and best practices.
    • Manage the worker's compensation program.
  • Personal Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain accurate and complete personnel records and ensure confidentiality and retention rules are followed.
  • Legal and Legislative Compliance:
    • Keep abreast of legislation affecting People & Culture, train management and monitor company policies to ensure compliance.
    • Keep the associate handbook updated and handle associate grievances.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, and ensure compliance with related federal and provincial legislation, local laws, rules, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performance Planning, Training & Development:
    • Participate in coaching and progressive discipline process with managers and supervisors.
    • Advise the Executive Leadership Team on policy changes regarding human resource issues.
    • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of associates' work results by training managers to coach and discipline associates.
    • Review and recommend disciplinary measures, including terminations, ensuring justifications are well documented.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Three or more years of experience in People & Culture with increasing supervisory responsibilities.
    • Human Resources Certification preferred.
    • Hotel experience an asset.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Thorough knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
    • Expert knowledge of People & Culture management principles, practices, and procedures.
    • Ability to act as a representative of the Company to the public.
    • Ability to read and comprehend relevant documents associated with department and hotel operations.
