Job Description:

The Director of Campus Wellness and Academic Support is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of Health Services at the University of Waterloo. The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting the Executive Director in leading the team to achieve wellness for all, as dictated by the Regulated Health Professions Act.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Leadership team to facilitate crisis response, including intake/triage management and crisis intervention.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Health Services' response for consultation and intervention in critical healthcare situations for the University of Waterloo student community.
Key Performance Areas:
  1. Critical Response Management: Ensure effective crisis response, consultation, and intervention for critical healthcare situations.
  2. Human Resources Management: Manage and hold team leaders accountable for delivering fair, integrative, and inclusive services; drive a culture of accountability.
  3. Medical Consultation: Provide medical consultation within confidentiality guidelines to students, faculty, and administration regarding individual students and community health issues.
  4. Strategic Direction and Operationalization: Lead strategic planning regarding unmet need; provide strategic coordination to Health Services to achieve a future-ready service.
  5. Service Integration and Collaboration: Engage in institution-wide initiatives to enable effective department functioning and a healthy, inclusive campus.
  6. Budget and Resource Management: Develop an annual budget; apply strategic judgment regarding how the services' budget is maintained.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5-8+ years of progressive management experience in a human care setting.
  • Proven leadership experience and Human Resource Management experience, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Expertise in developing, monitoring, and balancing budgets.
  • Operationalizes equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racist principles in strategy, guiding inclusive, anti-oppressive approaches in both client care and employee management.
  • Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Electronic Medical Record experience.
Salary:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
