About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at park distillery, a backcountry lodge inspired craft distillery located in the heart of Downtown Banff. Our menu features campfire inspired cuisine and wood-fired rotisserie specialties served alongside our award-winning spirits.

About the Job

As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen team and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain kitchen organization, efficiency, and supervise all food preparation and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the kitchen team and ensure the highest quality of food is served to our guests.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain kitchen organization, efficiency, and supervise all food preparation and presentation.
  • Coordinate ordering of supplies and manage food and product inventory.
  • Lead the kitchen team with the Executive Chef, providing guidance, training, and recognizing opportunities for improvement of kitchen team members.
  • Ensure the kitchen is stocked with the necessary supplies and equipment to maintain efficiency and quality of food preparation.
  • Verify that food storage is consistently well-managed and meets all regulatory and corporate standards.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years culinary experience is required.
  • Passion, experience, and knowledge of various types of sushi.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory kitchen role is an asset.
  • Food Safety certification and knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and remain calm and collected for the team.
