Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Planning team as a Planning Intern. This is a temporary full-time position, working 35 hours per week, with a salary of $18.92 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Planning staff with development applications and public meetings
  • Conduct research and analysis relating to municipal land use planning functions
  • Help undertake special projects, process improvements, and reports
  • Provide front counter customer service and assist development stakeholders
  • Analyze data and metrics
  • Potentially prepare online public information, visualizations, or other engagement tools
Requirements
  • College or university student enrolled in a discipline related to Planning, Environmental Studies, or Geography
  • Computer expertise with preference given to knowledge in design software, GIS, and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Understanding of how a municipality functions
  • Ability to visualize concepts and turn them into workable solutions
  • Excellent listening skills, coupled with a desire to learn new concepts
  • Good time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
