About the Role

The Compensation Advisor will play a critical role in supporting the Total Rewards team at Inter Pipeline. This position is responsible for providing expertise in compensation planning, analysis, and implementation to ensure alignment with the company's compensation philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the annual compensation review process, including collaborating with HR Systems & Analytics for system configuration and testing, assisting with communications and compensation letters, information/training sessions, and preparing relevant reports for Executive review.
  • Aid in the administration of the short-term and long-term incentive plans, including calculating and validating payout information for accuracy, and communicating/educating the business on the plans and payouts, as needed.
  • Participate in and conduct industry surveys and analysis on internal and external salary statistics.
  • Conduct Job Evaluation and internal analysis to make appropriate employee compensation recommendations. This involves evaluating existing and new positions to align with and maintain the integrity of the Compensation Framework.
  • Utilize various reports to analyze and identify trends or potential opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the maintenance and integrity of titling conventions and job classifications across the company, including training others and conducting audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Support compensation project work as needed, including pay for performance, titling conventions and retention programs.
  • Work in partnership with the HR Business Partners and the rest of the Human Resources team to answer compensation inquiries, make recommendations and communicate programs effectively.
  • Provide compensation analytics to support HR Business Partners and their client groups.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to provide monthly and quarterly reports for accruals.
  • Develop communication materials to enhance awareness and understanding of various compensation initiatives with HR Business Partners, leaders, and employees.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive compensation/total rewards experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business or other relevant fields.
  • CPHR or CCP considered an asset.
  • Skilled in Excel and other MS Office programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in interpretation and statistical analysis of market data.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience administering STIP and LTIP programs.
  • Experience in the administration and design of a compensation and career framework.
  • Working knowledge of Success Factors considered an asset.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with HR colleagues.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to prepare presentations and policies on compensation.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, onsite position, Monday-Friday. The role is a 6-month fixed-term opportunity.
