About the Opportunity

Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Kelowna, BC. This is a casual opportunity with variable hours and shifts may be at short notice.

About the Job

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to provide assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and urgent response to clients with severe mental health problems and/or problematic substance use.

The successful candidate will function as a member of the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services multi-disciplinary care team and provide specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients, and their families.

This position will support iOAT services in Kelowna, providing injectable opioid agonist treatment for people with severe opioid use disorder who have been refractory to oral opioid agonist therapy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree from an approved school of nursing;
  • At least two years' recent experience in Mental Health Substance Use; and
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
