Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional with expertise in Clinical Psychology to join our team at Interior Health Authority. About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, therapy, and consultation services, utilizing evidence-based practices and incorporating psychological insights into holistic care. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential to ensure effective coordination of services with community agencies, healthcare providers, and special interest groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments, using standardized and evidenced-based interview and assessment procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating psychological assessment results with the broader treatment plan.
  • Offer evidence-based, short-term therapy/counseling interventions to patients with mental health disorders.
  • Participate in client/patient conferences and team meetings, communicating pertinent information to all disciplines involved.
  • Support an interdisciplinary approach to client/patient care, ensuring coordination of services/programs with community agencies, other healthcare providers, and special interest groups.
  • Provide consultation to the treatment team, clients/patients, family, and/or community personnel regarding management and/or treatment of mental, behavioral, adjustment, and psychosocial disorders.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology from a university or school recognized by the College of Psychologists' of British Columbia, with an approved pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology.
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists' of British Columbia (or eligible for registration).
  • Five years recent related experience in clinical psychology in the assigned clinical practice area(s). Please note that we welcome applications from new graduates who have less than five years of work experience. Successful applicants will be provided with any post-doctoral supervision needed to achieve registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
