Residence Administrator Position

Job Summary
The Residence Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functioning of the Residence Office. This position requires a high level of organization, communication, and customer service skills to effectively manage the residence key inventory, provide administrative support, and act as a welcoming resource for residents and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the residence key inventory, including recordkeeping, distribution, and collection of keys
- Provide administrative support to the Department of Residence, including responding to inquiries, processing key replacements, and maintaining conference keyboards
- Act as a welcoming and compassionate resource for residents and stakeholders, providing critical first impressions and customer service
- Liaise with campus partners, including OneCard Office, Parking & Transportation Resources, and Conference Services, to resolve residence student matters and logistics
- Supervise two full-time seasonal student positions from May through August, providing training and ongoing advice and support
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma plus one year post-secondary school and one to two years related experience
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks
- Proven ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, and to take initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to handle and de-escalate difficult situations
- Proven ability to supervise student staff and enhance their performance through mentorship and coaching
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, continuing position with normal hours of work from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in hours will be required, including evening and/or weekend work due to programming and events.
