Job Summary

The Residence Facility Coordinator is a key role within the University of Waterloo's Residences department. This position is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing facility and security-related issues, ensuring timely and efficient responses to work orders, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess facility issues, including safety and security concerns, and develop effective solutions.
  • Manage the department's work order system, HoME, and track workflow to ensure timely completion of services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and contract companies to coordinate short-term and long-term solutions to reported issues.
  • Plan and coordinate cyclical tasks associated with maintenance processes, such as EOT/SOT and regular maintenance projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders, including students and staff, and ensure timely response and follow-through to resolve issues.
  • Manage fiscal transactions and decisions related to work orders, repairs, and replacements up to $300,000 per community.
  • Assist with planning, developing, and implementing new safety and security processes as needed.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid class G driver's license with a good driving record and ability to be insurable.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role, with demonstrated experience in customer relations, record keeping, facilities management, purchasing, and scheduling work management.
  • Working knowledge of facilities maintenance and operations, and/or Residence/Student life background and knowledge of the UW community and culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.
