Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 Curriculum Coordinator Role

We are seeking an experienced Education Coordinator to manage and coordinate the development, implementation, in-service, and evaluation of Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 (JK-6) school curriculum for all educational jurisdictions in the Northwest Territories.

This role is responsible for ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that meets their needs. You will work collaboratively with Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) staff, Government of the Northwest Territories Departments, NWT Teachers' Association, Indigenous Governments, education bodies, and colleagues and educators from across the NWT, British Columbia, Yukon, Nunavut, and other jurisdictions in Canada.

To be successful in this role, you will typically need a Degree in Education or related field, and three (3) years of relevant experience, including one (1) year of teaching experience within a JK-6 Northern classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement JK-6 curriculum frameworks and action plans
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure curriculum meets student needs
  • Evaluate and improve curriculum effectiveness
  • Maintain relationships with government departments, education bodies, and Indigenous Governments

Requirements:

  • Degree in Education or related field
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
  • One (1) year of teaching experience within a JK-6 Northern classroom

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with industry standards.
