Position Overview

The position of Associate Assistant Superintendent of Learning at Yellowknife Catholic Schools is a key role in the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Superintendent. This role is responsible for developing and implementing observable impact planning in alignment with district priorities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's Degree in an educational field
  • Active involvement in community parish
  • Must hold, or be eligible for a(n) NWT Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum of five years experience as a school principal or equivalent leadership experience
  • Proven success in curriculum-related initiatives and program development
  • Expert knowledge of literacy and numeracy instruction from JK-12
  • Deep understanding and experience in assessment practices
  • Proven experience in the use of data for school improvement
  • Knowledge of the British Columbia curriculum would be an asset
  • Evidence of fostering respectful learning environments that are inclusive of all people
  • Experience in building relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities
