Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team as a Cardiac Sonographer. As a key member of our imaging department, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

About the Opportunity

This is a long-term assignment full-time position requiring 75 hours biweekly. The successful candidate will be required to work shift schedules, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Compensation Package

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $34.24 to $39.96 per hour, and may be eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $.23 biweekly. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested, adhering to the department's standards and techniques.
  • Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Required Qualifications
  • A graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Sonography Canada certification.
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • A minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary care setting.
  • Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations, as well as General Electric Vivid E95, is an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.
