About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist Specialist with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a critical role in providing life-supporting care to patients across our institutions. This includes the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation, as well as expertise in advanced airway management.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status, assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies
  • Perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing
  • Act as an expert in advanced airway management
About You

We are seeking individuals who possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels
  • Ability to travel to other sites
  • Effective planning, organizing, and supervising abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Compensation and Benefits

This is a Permanent Part-Time position working 60% of full-time hours (45 hours bi-weekly). The hourly rate for this position is $32.43-$40.66. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
