Cardiology Technologist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, signal average electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and exercise tolerance testing. You will also be responsible for preparing patients for these tests and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, signal average electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and exercise tolerance testing
- Prepare patients for these tests and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the process
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus successful completion of a Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent
- Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
- In the absence of candidates who meet the above qualifications, consideration may be given to those who are currently enrolled in a Cardiology Technology program
- Current BLS (HCP) certification
- Recent clinical experience in an ECG department and demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter monitors, and stress testing
- Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
- Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations
