Senior Contract Negotiator

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Legal Counsel to join our team at Trench Canada. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice on commercial matters and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in contract law and negotiation, with experience in managing corporate affairs and compliance matters. They will also possess excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.
- Providing guidance on commercial and contractual matters, including claim management and dispute settlement.
- Defining targeted terms and conditions, and ensuring transparency of risks in the organization.
- Managing all corporate affairs of Trench Canada.
- Collaborating with the Global Compliance Officer on compliance matters.
- Engaging external law firms as needed.
- Designing and delivering legal training to the business.
- A university degree in law with a focus on contract or business law.
- Qualified to practice law in Canada; additional experience in the US is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages, especially Portuguese, is an asset.
- At least 3 years of in-house experience, ideally at an industrial manufacturing company.
Trench Canada offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
