Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Alumni Relations Director at Thompson Rivers University.

About the Role

The Alumni Relations Director will be responsible for leading the Alumni Office in building and maintaining strong relationships with alumni, fostering a sense of community and connection among graduates.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills and experience in alumni relations, event planning, and volunteer management to drive engagement and philanthropy.

You will work closely with faculty members, staff, and external partners to develop and implement strategic plans that advance the university's priorities and goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Alumni Engagement: Develop and execute strategies to engage alumni, increase participation, and foster a sense of community among graduates.
  • Event Planning: Plan, coordinate, and execute events that promote alumni engagement, including reunions, conferences, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support alumni events and initiatives.
  • Communication: Develop and implement communication plans to keep alumni informed about university news, events, and opportunities.
  • Fundraising: Collaborate with development staff to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including soliciting donations and managing stewardship programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree: In a related field such as communications, marketing, or higher education.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in alumni relations, event planning, or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
  • Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and make strategic decisions.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply and effectively.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with faculty members, staff, and external partners to achieve shared goals.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
