Key Responsibilities

The Alumni Relations Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and retain alumni, as well as fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Duties
  1. Alumni Chapter Development: Develop and implement strategies to establish and maintain alumni chapters, including identifying and engaging chapter leaders and developing chapter event plans.
  2. Alumni Network Events: Plan and coordinate alumni network events, including conferences, reunions, and other activities that promote alumni engagement and community building.
  3. Alumni Communications: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage alumni, including email campaigns, social media, and print media.
  4. Alumni Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records, including contact information, biographical data, and career information.
  5. Alumni Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain alumni, including identifying and engaging alumni volunteers and ambassadors.
  6. Reporting and Evaluation: Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of alumni relations programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: University undergraduate degree.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in alumni relations and external affairs, including one year of experience in an integrated Advancement program and two years of experience with volunteer-based programs.
  • Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work while managing multiple, diverse, and competing priorities to meet strict deadlines; demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders; experience with relational databases; knowledge of the steps needed to strategize, implement, and build constituent programs; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and alumni; computer skills in word, Excel, Windows, and database management; strong working knowledge of desktop publishing, web page editing software, and social media platforms; strong written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to liaise with TRU personnel and external parties; ability to handle confidential documents with discretion.
