Job Description

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the Alumni Office, ensuring seamless execution of events, programs, and services that enhance the university's reputation and foster meaningful connections with alumni. Key responsibilities include:

  • Budget Management: Develop and implement an annual budget that aligns with the university's strategic priorities.
  • Leadership Development: Motivate and inspire direct reports, auxiliary employees, and volunteers to achieve outstanding results.
  • Event Planning: Coordinate and supervise external events, ensuring they promote the university's image and values.
  • Strategic Planning: Create a comprehensive annual plan that incorporates the needs of faculties, athletics, and internal stakeholders.
  • Engagement Tracking: Monitor and report on alumni engagement activity targets.
  • Communication Strategy: Develop and execute marketing plans, both digital and printed, to effectively communicate with alumni and stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in leadership roles, including alumni relations, event planning, and working with non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of higher education priorities and the ability to work effectively in a collegial environment.
  • Experience managing sensitive information and adhering to email regulations (CASL) and other privacy restrictions.
  • High level of proficiency with various technology platforms and database programs.
  • Superior ability to motivate and inspire exceptional work from direct reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain calm focus under varying conditions, deadlines, and demands.

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Location

This role is based at Thompson Rivers University's campus in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
