Alumni Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Alumni Relations Coordinator to join our team at Thompson Rivers University.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to coordinate alumni events, engage with alumni, and support the development of strong relationships between TRU and its graduates.
Key Responsibilities:- Alumni Events: Plan and coordinate all aspects of local and regional chapter/network events, including timelines, budgets, setup, booking facilities, catering, and marketing events.
- Content Development: Create content for the alumni webpages, blog, social media platforms, and print media, ensuring rapid and accurate flow of information between TRU and its stakeholders.
- Database Management: Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records by capturing contact, biographical, and career information of alumni via surveys, correspondence, website, etc.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, through direct contact, newsletters, email blasts, alumni web pages, social and print media.
- Education and Training: Provide guidance to graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in alumni networks.
- Volunteer Supervision: Supervise work/study employees (part-time) and provide guidance to alumni volunteers and ambassadors.
- Education: University Undergraduate Degree
- Experience: Three years experience, including one year in alumni relations and external affairs within an integrated Advancement program, and two years of experience with volunteer-based programs
- Skills and Qualifications: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work while managing multiple priorities; demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships; experience with relational databases; knowledge of constituent programming; analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work with diverse groups; computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management; desktop publishing, web page editing software, and social media platform proficiency; written and oral communication skills; discretion handling confidential documents;
- Working Conditions: Sitting at desk and computer for long periods, general office conditions, travel required, lifting boxes up to 10 kg
The salary for this position is determined by the Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4879, as it presently exists. Estimated annual salary: $60,000 - $80,000.
