Financial Manager and Human Resource Leader

Aurora Land Consulting - Environmental Division seeks an experienced Financial Manager and Human Resource Leader to oversee financial management, human resources, and compliance. Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $100,000 per year, with additional pay in the form of bonuses. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including dental care, life insurance, paid time off, and vision care.
Responsibilities
This role encompasses two key areas: financial management and human resources. Key responsibilities include:
• Overseeing accounting systems, ensuring regular backups and data integrity.
• Handling all aspects of monthly financial entries and reporting, including payroll, benefits, insurance, invoices, and tax-related filings (GST/PST).
• Processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and contractor payments accurately and on time.
• Ensuring financial functions such as cash management, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and vendor statements are reconciled monthly.
• Managing financial planning, budgeting, and expense control to align with organizational goals.
• Meeting all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines, including reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with Corporate, regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Reviewing and maintaining all contracts, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
• Participating in senior management meetings to provide insights on forecasting and budgeting.
• Overseeing payroll administration, timesheets, and benefits reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Providing HR-related support to senior management, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or similar designation would be considered an asset.
• Proficient in Sage accounting software, Open Invoice, and Jobutrax/Pandell Projects software (knowledge of Ceridian Powerpay is an asset).
• Experience with assisting small to medium-sized companies increase profitability and growth would be considered an asset.
• Proficient in analyzing financial data to drive strategic decisions and operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of financial compliance and risk management principles.
• Demonstrated experience managing external audits and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
• Skilled in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and decision-makers.
