Logistics Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our team at Advantage Personnel. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our yard operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistics activities with our internal team to ensure seamless execution of transportation operations.
  2. Team Oversight: Oversee the activities of our dispatch team, ensuring they are equipped to handle the demands of our operations.
  3. Safety and Maintenance: Ensure employees adhere to safety standards and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  4. Performance Metrics: Monitor performance metrics, develop process improvements, and resolve issues that impact service levels.
  5. Customer Relations: Attend customer meetings and build relationships with customers to ensure exceptional service.
  6. Employee Development: Ensure all employees provide the highest level of service and provide feedback to the Regional Manager and Regional Director.
  7. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is in good working condition and coordinate repairs with vendors.

Requirements:

  1. Leadership Skills: Possess leadership skills, including scheduling conflicts, team building, coaching, and mentoring skills to train new drivers and retrain veteran drivers.
  2. Communication Skills: Demonstrate good communication skills and a willingness to provide exceptional customer service.
  3. Safety Awareness: Understand and prevent critical safety issues.
  4. Organizational Skills: Possess detail-oriented, organized, and multi-tasking abilities.
  5. Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Geotab.
  6. Experience: Related field with 2+ years of previous business experience or related field with 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  7. Language Skills: Bilingual and proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Availability: Willingness to devote additional hours according to company needs.
  9. Class 1 License: Class 1 License is required with driving experience.
