About the Role

Pacific Coast Community Resources is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals living in staffed homes within their community.

Your primary responsibility will be to empower and support individuals to live independently and make informed decisions about their lives. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care, health, and safety are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advocate for the rights and choices of the individuals we support.
  2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and community members.
  3. Participate in the development and implementation of Personal Service Plans.
  4. Assist with daily living activities and medication administration.
  5. Record daily activity and personal health information on our case management database.
  6. Maintain a clean and well-maintained home environment, including daily food preparation and light housekeeping duties.
Requirements
  1. Grade 12 education.
  2. Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services/health care.
  4. Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.
  5. Previous behaviour management course/training.
  6. Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  7. Non-verbal communication skills.
  8. Restricted class 4 driver's licence (for Full-Time positions).
  9. Satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
  10. Criminal record clearance for children and vulnerable adults.
  11. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status as per current Public Health Orders.
  12. TB Test.
  13. Moderate computer literacy.
  14. Eligibility to work in Canada.
