We are looking for a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to become part of our Community Transition Team. In this role, you will provide essential non-clinical, peer-based assistance to individuals as they reintegrate into their communities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personalized peer support and mentorship to clients, emphasizing skill development and community integration
- Conducting both group and individual sessions, sharing vital health and social resources
- Building respectful connections with clients and their support systems, aiding them in navigating available services
- Advocating for client needs, engaging in service enhancement initiatives, and maintaining precise documentation
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for clients
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Social Services Worker certificate program or equivalent experience
- Personal experience with incarceration, substance use, and mental health issues

- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in teamwork and efficient work organization
- Dedication to fostering a culturally safe environment and respecting Indigenous rights
