The Role

As a key member of the Douglas College community, the Assistant Registrar, Records and CE Registration will play a vital role in ensuring the College meets its service standards and compliance requirements. Under the direction of the Associate Registrar, this position will manage and lead the day-to-day operations of a unit or service team, fostering a culture of excellence and high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, monitor, and implement objectives to achieve departmental goals in support of the College strategic plan.
  2. Manage and plan the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring consistency of practice and maintenance of excellent service levels.
  3. Evaluate, review, and implement changes to improve and/or streamline services and business processes.
  4. Interpret and apply policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with external agencies.
  5. Communicate strategies to inform students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders about College programs.
  6. Represent the College and College interests before external agencies, other institutions, and various organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum three years of supervisory and leadership experience in administering student financial aid & awards, advising, and/or customer service operations.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to supervise and lead, including mentoring and developing staff.
  • Extensive knowledge of government student financial aid regulations and issues of compliance within Canadian post-secondary education.
