We are looking for a strategic communications professional to support the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic. The successful candidate will develop compelling written content in alignment with our strategic objectives and priorities. This includes drafting articles, determining which information to feature, and ensuring consistency of voice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate communication strategies that align with our institution's standards, policies, and practices.
  • Draft and edit engaging written content by conducting research and interviews with internal subject matter experts.
  • Develop and distribute compelling written communications that demonstrate diverse perspectives within the university.
  • Prepare the Provost's monthly newsletter for distribution, ensuring a breadth of perspectives are reflected.
  • Provide communications support and expertise within Academic Affairs, including writing, editing, and coordinating communications.
  • Assist faculty with disseminating research works and coordinate with academic departments for podcast and knowledge mobilization needs.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in communications planning and writing communication materials.
  • Excellent grammar, writing, and editing skills, with proficiency in style guides and writing best practices.
  • Strong reporting skills, including oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
