About the Role

Affinity is seeking a highly skilled Business Process Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Public sector client's project team, you will play a critical role in the development of new business processes aligned to the future state target operating model.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaboration and Alignment: Work closely with the core project team members, including representatives from the business unit, IT, Testing, Training, and OCM, to ensure alignment in project goals and successful delivery.
  2. Process Design and Improvement: Facilitate workshops on workflow/process design or improvement, as needed, to drive business process excellence.
  3. Problem-Solving and Documentation: Use problem-solving methodologies to brainstorm countermeasures with the business in resolving medium to large issues, documenting the process for future reference.
  4. Process Mapping and Documentation: Attend elaboration sessions and document future state process maps and workflow for all impacted areas of the business and support areas.
  5. Training and Support: Provide training and support to the business team members in the development of future state process standard work documents.
  6. Subject Matter Expertise: Leverage subject matter experts' network/experience to compile/capture information/perspective.
  7. Process Analysis and Improvement: Provide information gathering related to the current and future processes – cycle times, benefits measurement.
  8. Capability Building: Build capability on continuous process improvement tools, such as process mapping, problem solving, and process standard work, amongst project team members.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Eight (8) years' experience in the role of Business Process Analyst on large and complex transformational projects, with demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  2. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of performance measurement methods and statistical analysis, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple assignments in a demanding environment.
  3. Analysis and Recommendation: Ability to analyze complex problems/opportunities for efficiencies and make recommendations for improvements.
  4. Coaching and Influencing: Ability to coach or influence those with whom there is no authority relationship through strong facilitation, team management/building, and change management skills.
  5. Technical Proficiency: Technical proficiency with Visio, SharePoint, and PowerPoint software, as well as virtual collaboration tools (i.e., Miro).
  6. Education and Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP/Agile) Designation, Business Analysis, BPMN, Change Management, and CPI (Lean/Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt) training and certification is an asset.
