Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Reliability Engineering Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Engineering department to develop and implement processes and procedures necessary to establish a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) culture in the site and improve overall equipment performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Reliability Engineering Team/Manager to develop and implement RCM processes and procedures.
  • Develop, generate, and report on reliability and equipment maintenance critical metrics using PowerBI or related applications.
  • Support work execution management elements, including MRO Spares, PM optimization, Bill of Materials, and CMMS Readiness.
  • Implement, assist, support, and help build maintenance optimization reviews of assets' criticality, functional importance, and duty cycle.
  • Establish best-practice maintenance activities required to detect early signs of functional failures, such as Predictive Maintenance, Vibration analysis, IR Thermography, etc.
  • Support and work on improvement projects (PPI), Reliability Engineering projects, and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.
  • Working towards University degree or College diploma in an Engineering or trades program of study, Mechanical program preferred.
  • 8-12 month commitment period essential.
  • No previous Reliability Engineering experience required, but working experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Facilities departments in a Manufacturing company preferred.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to lift light items for limited duration and may require occasional equipment operation. The work environment will be comfortable indoors, with regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, or odors, varying temperatures, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
