Petro Canada Lubricants Inc, an HF Sinclair company, is seeking a Reliability Operations Specialist to join their team. This role reports to the Team Leader of Mechanical Reliability and is responsible for leading reliability improvement activities, stewarding predictive/preventative Mechanical Integrity programs, and completing asset Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for respective Area Cross Functional Teams.

Key stakeholders include the Cross Functional Team (CFT) Leader, Maintenance Trade Supervisors, and Operations & Maintenance Coordinators. Key supporting roles include peer Reliability Engineers, Rotating Equipment Specialists, Industrial Mechanics, Plant Vibration Technicians, Instrument and Electrical Specialists, Materials Technologists, Technical Services Engineers, and Production Operators.

Responsibilities

  • Supports day-to-day production requirements through direct participation in CFT meetings and follow-up requests.
  • Assesses the condition of online equipment for suitability of continued safe and reliable operation.
  • Regularly monitors critical assets and understands failure causes in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Identifies corrective actions and supports Planning in developing equipment scope of repair following failures; reports through SAP and other channels and helps prioritize within CFT against competing work.
  • Supports the identification, planning, budgeting, and implementation of reliability improvement initiatives (MRIM).
  • Stewards the performance of predictive/preventative programs for mechanical assets (through PM validation, KPI tracking, and reporting).
  • Learns and supports Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for events impacting asset reliability; provides recommendations for improvement and supports corrective actions.
  • Learns the development of Management of Change (MOC) documents for proposed Maintenance changes.
  • Ensures the sustainment of asset Master Data; updates Materials, Equipment, and BOMs in the SAP database.
  • Supports Rotating Equipment Specialists with validation of Mechanical Integrity documents.
  • Supports Rotating Equipment Specialists with the development and implementation of asset strategies, including the identification of spare parts, routine maintenance activities, long-term upgrades, obsolescence planning.
  • Supports bad actor identification and improvement initiatives; identifies and communicates successes, challenges, and plans.
  • Contributes to the preparation of annual maintenance/expense/capital budgets and Long-Range Plans (LRP).
  • Provides input into capital project design; completes Green Table reviews of Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering documents.
  • Supports Turnaround/Outage scope development, planning, and execution (i.e., identifies key proactive asset repairs that deliver the expected level of reliability, provides shutdown QA/QC support for equipment scope of work, assists with start-up support).
  • Provides reliability input into Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews.
