About the Role

As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in managing client relationships and providing administrative oversight for Indigenous Trusts. This involves partnering with a specialized team of professionals within Commercial Banking and Wealth Management to deliver tailored solutions and services that meet the unique needs of Indigenous clients.

You will be responsible for liaising directly with Indigenous Trust clients, Relationship Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective management and administration of Trusts. Your primary duties will include:

  • Managing client relationships and acting as a liaison between clients and Relationship Managers.
  • Engaging with Indigenous clients to deliver Trust programs, funding, reporting, communication, and training.
  • Liaising with key wealth partners and stakeholders to develop and implement tailored Trust solutions, services, and strategies that reflect Indigenous communities' priorities.
  • Ensuring Trust administration compliance with the Trust Deed and adherence to all CIBC Trust Policies & Procedures.

You will also be required to:

  • Prepare for and assist Relationship Managers with Community Trust meetings, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up.
  • Attend Trustee meetings and other community meetings with Relationship Managers.
  • Provide ongoing education and training for Indigenous community members on Trust matters and other financial education.
  • Partner with external experts such as Investment Consultants, Investment Managers, tax specialists, and Auditors to provide guidance and oversight of the Indigenous Trust strategy and day-to-day management.
  • Collaborate with internal experts from the Investment Management Department, Tax Department, and other areas within CIBC to provide support and administration on client investment, tax, and other issues impacting the Trusts.
About You

We're looking for an experienced professional with a passion for working with Indigenous communities. To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with Indigenous clients.
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing innovative solutions that are community-led.
  • Understanding of accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and investing sufficient to administer complex Trust Accounts and assets.
  • Excellent writing skills to prepare correspondence containing detailed descriptions, explanations, and specialized Trust terminology.
