About the Opportunity:

This is a challenging role that requires exceptional organizational and administrative skills, with a focus on managing complex trust arrangements.

The successful candidate will work closely with estate related stakeholders, including Gift Planning Advisors (GPAs) and testator/trix families, to ensure seamless planning and execution of gifts to BC Cancer Foundation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the administration of gifts made through estates, trusts, registered accounts, annuities and life insurance policies, including associated processes and budget preparation.
  • Developing and stewarding relationships between legacy giving/estate related stakeholders and the BC Cancer Foundation to increase future planned giving opportunities.
  • Providing technical assistance to donors and advisors regarding gift planning and connecting prospects to development teams within the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution plus 5-7 years recent experience as a trust officer/administrator or as an estate administrator for a charity.
  • A clear knowledge and understanding of the Canadian tax system, estate planning and various gifting vehicles is essential.
  • Technical expertise in financial management, including budgeting, reporting and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships that are outcome driven.
  • Highly developed listening, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work simultaneously on complex projects with tight deadlines.

  • A competitive salary range of $65,000-$87,500 per year.
