Job OverviewThis role requires a skilled IT professional to provide technical support to our users, ensuring seamless system and application functionality. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for resolving issues and inquiries via email, remote, and on-site support, utilizing your problem-solving skills and customer-centric approach in a fast-paced environment.
Key Accountabilities:- Respond to issues and enquiries via email, remote, and on-site support to KMH staff/users as required on various desktop hardware, software, telecom, and network issues
- Analyze and diagnose problems while developing and implementing solutions within tight deadlines
- Enable support for system access, including creating and managing user accounts
- Provide initial point of contact for technical problems, including timely investigation and diagnosis, recording incidents (ticket system), restoration of service if possible, and assignment of incidents to next-level support team as needed
- Answer technical questions regarding personal computer hardware and accessories, deployed within the company
- Support the company's core business applications or cloud-based platforms for installation and configuration
- Setup new computers and provide users' production support
- Maintain awareness of current initiatives, rollouts, and changes to the technical environment
- Periodically inspect locations to ensure IT-related equipment cleanliness, cabling tidiness, and collect potential feedback from users for continuous improvement
- Optimize hardware and software usage by training users, providing explanations, and following up accordingly
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all health-related information
- Ensure timely resolution and communication of status with users and management
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a diverse technology and customer service-focused role
- Post-secondary education in a related IT area or business or technical training/experience equivalent
- Solid knowledge and demonstrated experience using desktop products and operating systems (Windows environment only)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, WiFi access points) and basic level network connectivity issues and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting back-office applications and industry-standard business software applications, including MS Office and Outlook
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN based networking, Windows networking, Wireless, and VoIP technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good initiative with solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
