LPN - Care Team Member
Northwood is a leading provider of long term care services, and we are currently seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our care team in Bedford.
Responsibilities:
- Resident checks and rounds (including, but not limited to, vitals, breathing, incontinent round, safety rounds, narcotic, charting)
- Medication administration (includes processing Doctor's orders)
- Resident personal care (includes feeding/assistance, bowel care, dressing, wound care, blood work)
- Resident, family, and staff support (includes addressing questions and concerns, assisting other Northwood workers)
- General duties and administration (includes mail, paper work, ordering supplies, assigning duties)
- Completes other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training
- Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Current basic CPR
- Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
- Previous experience in gerontological nursing an asset
- Leadership /Charge experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting
- Knowledge of / experience with a team based person-centered care approach
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
Hours/Shifts: Full Time and Part Time (Various shifts)
