Medical Rehabilitation Specialist

The Medical Rehabilitation Specialist plays a vital role in our healthcare team, assessing and treating patients with actual or potential impairments. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific tests, and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis.
A comprehensive treatment plan is developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to help patients regain optimal function. Effective communication and collaboration with other health disciplines, family members, and caregivers are essential for successful patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical conditions and develop personalized treatment plans
- Administer exercises, provide education, and use various therapies to promote recovery
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health promotion and patient management
We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physiotherapist with a Master's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required, with competencies in other languages being an asset.
Requirements- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
- Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
- Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS)
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset
- Permanent Full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts include weekends in a rotational schedule

Our competitive compensation package includes $33.97 - $42.89 hourly, plus eligibility for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
