About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer plays a vital role in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, performing routine and specialized ultrasound procedures with precision and accuracy. This position requires a strong understanding of ultrasound techniques and procedures, as well as excellent patient care skills.

As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures
  • Providing exceptional patient care and communication
  • Collaborating with the Diagnostic Imaging Team to achieve departmental goals

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diagnostic medical sonography, with a focus on ultrasound imaging. A graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound and Sonography Canada certification are essential requirements for this role.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Diagnostic Imaging Department. The successful candidate will possess:

  • A graduate degree in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of ultrasound techniques and procedures
Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, as well as participate in call-back and standby rotations.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $34.24 - $39.96, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
