About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing medical devices to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing cleaning and sterilizing duties to meet the needs of our departmental customers
  • Reprocessing medical devices, including scopes, to ensure they are safe for use
  • Following policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Rotating through decontamination, processing, and distribution areas to ensure efficient workflow
  • Making up and distributing case carts and other sterile items to internal and external partners

We are looking for a team player who is able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. If you have a strong background in medical device reprocessing and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, we encourage you to apply.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Has completed a recognized medical device reprocessing education program
  • Has certification as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) or is willing to obtain it within 12 months of employment
  • Has experience working with medical devices, including scopes, and has knowledge of infection control and sterile processing practices
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and staff
