Vialto Partners, a global mobility leader, seeks an experienced tax professional to join our team as a Global Mobility Tax Specialist.

Job Description

This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of two days in the office per week. As a key member of our global mobility services team, you will play a crucial role in upholding compliance with tax regulations and optimizing tax processes for employees on international assignments.

Your primary objective will be to reduce tax-related risks and costs while ensuring that both the organization and its employees adhere to relevant tax laws.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Accurately prepare, review, and file tax returns and related deliverables for globally mobile employees within designated deadlines.
  • Specialized Advice: Offer strategic recommendations to internal teams regarding tax planning, withholding responsibilities, and social security contributions.
  • Collaboration: Work in tandem with finance and HR departments to ensure precise calculation and reporting of payroll taxes and social security contributions.
  • Tax Equalization and Protection: Provide guidance on tax equalization and protection policies to employees, ensuring clear understanding and compliance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze employee compensation and payroll data to accurately calculate tax liabilities and identify potential benefits.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare supporting applications and documentation to optimize employees' tax positions, including comprehensive data analysis and communication with assignees.
  • Staying Informed: Stay informed on the latest developments in international tax laws and regulations.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients with employees on business trips, offering exceptional service and support.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in Canadian & US individual tax planning for employee cross-border movement including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process, and managing international assignee populations of multinational clients.
  • Skills: Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in understanding individual tax compliance, tax planning, and expatriate tax program policy and administration design, identifying and addressing client needs: managing engagements, creating a positive environment, researching business and industry trends, experimenting with automation & digitization, and exposure to pricing, client value, and the negotiation process.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
