We are seeking an experienced administrator to support the Mayor's Office in providing sensational service to our citizens.

Job Description

The City Administrator Liaison will act as a communication link between the Mayor and the public, reporting to the Chief of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing incoming email, mail, and phone messages, directing mail to the appropriate staff, and ensuring pertinent documents are shared with relevant departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review incoming email, mail, and phone messages;
  • Direct mail to the appropriate staff and share pertinent documents with relevant departments;
  • Answer incoming telephone calls from the public and employees;
  • Welcome guests and dignitaries to the Mayor's Office or Boardroom as required;
  • Contribute to social media planning;
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief of Staff as required;
  • Collect information to support policy development and maintain awareness of City initiatives, Council policies, and municipal matters.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Political Science, Public Policy, Municipal Affairs, Sociology, or a similar field, and relevant experience in a fast-paced environment. Previous work in a government setting is an asset.

You should possess proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and web applications. A strong team player with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a complex environment is essential.

Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
