Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Finance Manager to join our team at Black & McDonald. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial function for our Southern Ontario Region, as well as providing national finance leadership to our regional Construction operations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of all financial reports, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Provide financial leadership and support to our regional Construction operations, including identifying and problem-solving accounting, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Manage and maintain our ERP systems and data analytics software to aggregate and interpret data.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related reports.
  • Provide financial support to our Construction operations, both locally and nationally, and help problem-solve any Construction-related accounting, billing, and administrative issues.
  • Generate analysis over reported results, leveraging our ERP systems and data analytics tools.
  • Participate in regional and national strategic planning and prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Perform due diligence over contemplated acquisitions.
  • Implement and monitor our company's policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions.

Requirements

  • Accounting designation (CPA) required, but may consider equivalent designation and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in senior finance roles.
  • Proficient with ERP systems and data analytics.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate.
  • An individual who is self-directed and has superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in the Construction industry.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with JDEdwards would also be a benefit.
