Job Summary

The Sales Territory Development Manager will manage and expand the profitable sale of a broad range of Allmand products through consultative selling to customers in an assigned territory. This role requires effective conflict resolution skills to manage customer expectations, secure customer orders, and implement company programs.

Territory Overview

The territory includes Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Main Responsibilities

  • Present sales & marketing programs to secure new and existing orders from customers; develop business partnerships with new and existing customers
  • Maintain level of service and communication with customers through regular and consistent call cycles, including phone contact and personal visits
  • Recruit new customers based on market potential and company strategy and objectives
  • Interface with assigned management and support personnel as necessary for consistent, open communication, customer support, implementation of company programs, and achievement of territory and company goals and objectives
  • Meet territory goals/objectives based on a business plan; maintain (revise & update) on an ongoing basis as necessary; implement same
  • Control and reduce selling costs through efficient customer ranking, routing, planning, and expense control
  • Review and analyze sales and marketing data to promote sales, determine customer needs, and provide forecasting information; communicate trends and opportunities
  • Promote the sell-thru of customer commitments through advertising, planning, and implementation of group ad campaigns and promoting individual customer advertising & sound merchandising practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Solid knowledge of the equipment industry and green energy standards and solutions
  • Ability to effectively and strategically manage a large territory
  • Ability to analyze sales trends to identify alternatives that will maximize sales opportunities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Solid computer skills, including understanding of sales software systems, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently; solid organizational skills
  • Desire to continuously improve through training
  • Ability to manage business schedule and territory travel effectively
  • Fluent in English and French

Physical and Environmental Requirements

This role requires:

  • Travel up to 70%
  • Ability to safely load, secure, and operate company trailers on a regular basis. Ability to tow and back-up small towable equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record

Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000-$95,000 + Sales Incentive Plan.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience, is required.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of three years of experience in a sales or customer service environment is required.
