Job Summary:

The Estimator & Proposal Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the creation and delivery of estimates and project proposals to secure new business opportunities. This individual must be thorough, analytical, and a skilled writer, with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of directly relevant Engineering or Energy Sector experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimate Development:

  • Prepare multi-discipline estimates, including electrical, automation, instrumentation and controls, mechanical, and process engineering.
  • Develop cost estimates in consultation with technical staff, using Catch forms and procedures, ensuring accurate and current labour, equipment, and material costs.

Proposal Development:

  • Evaluate proposal specifications and scope.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other technical staff to clarify, understand, and validate project scope, risks, deliverables, assumptions, exceptions, and exclusions.
  • Write proposal documents and supporting materials that are clear, concise, and compliant with client specifications.
  • Update CRM with proposal details and status changes to improve data collection on win/loss metrics.
  • Organize meetings and maintain documentation of said meetings.
Qualification Requirements:

Along with an enthusiastic and professional attitude, the ideal candidate must also possess:

  • A related post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical estimate and proposal development, with thorough knowledge of estimating processes and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with CRM and MS Project software.
  • Proven skills in handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to foster professional relationships with people from various technical backgrounds and skill sets.
